This kitchen remodel was done in 2004. We used Shamrock brand cabinets in a Birch wood, stained and a laminate counter top

Before:  The whole kitchen/dining room had this dark barn wood paneling on it.  It made the downstairs very dark.  The wall cabinets over the peninsula were way too low for visability but as you can see in the next before picture, it was the only wall cabinets they had.

After picture shows the paneling down and drywall hung, I shortened the wall cabinets over the peninsula also to give more of an open feel between the two rooms.

Before:  They had no wall cabinets over the sink area and just the open shelves to the right of the sink.  Their base cabinets were few and far between too.

After:  We turned the corner with base and wall cabinets to give not only storage but counter top area also.

After:  The kitchen is very functional with a lot more cabinet storage space than it started out with.  Dishes are put away behind cabinet doors instead of on the open shelves they had before.  With the dark paneling gone, it also makes this room so much lighter.
